stalls when i put it in gear..need help

i'm going to be looking at a 2000 cherokee and its runs great and starts right up but it dies once u take it out of park...what do u think it might be??...its a 4.0liter sport with 120,000 on the clock

is there away to check if the iac is good...i know someone with a parts jeep i can take parts off

iac usually just needs a good cleaning and lube
