mystery hatch wires

I was wiring up speakers in my '91 hatch and found some unused wires. There are two blue with red stripe that meet in a female barrel connector. There is also a yellow with brown stripe that is just dangling unused.

I've got the wiring FSM but it's useless for this.

Also, does anybody know what wires are for the speakers? I just kept trying them until I got sound so I guess I've got them right, but I don't like guessing.

BTW my little brother used to drive this thing and he screwed up the wiring pretty good. He's in the marines and stationed in Hawaii now so I'm not able to make him fix it.
