Sounds like a circus going down the road, and leaking

96 xj sport 3.5 lift 4.0 5sp 30 in front


I have a few noises I need help identifying

1. sounds like change jingling while jeep is in motion (from right wheel?)

2. when braking a horrible squealing noise, but only when almost to a stop

here's what I know so far.

both shocks are shot and drivers side is removed
need front left hub
front driveshaft is REALLY loose
brakes all checked within last 2 weeks at Midas and were fine

I took a mallet to everything in the front end and could not re-create the noises

All I know about jeeps I learned from and Haynes so my background is minimal.

also, on the drivers side of the front axle there is a black plastic piece that has come loose and there is oil slowly coming out, how bad is that?

it has nothing to do with the plastic piece, your inner axle seal is leaking. probably best to have it professionally done since you have to take the carrier out.
