My friend is going to order an aussielocker for his D35,

on their web there is a difference between D35 Cklip to 1993 and later ,,,,

As we do not know which year is his D35, how can we tell it? No BOM is available. In fact what is difference betwenn these two axles? (not cklip/noncklip)

Thanks for all replies

The axles are held in with C clips, by the side spider gears. The center pin keeps the axles from coming inwards, and dropping out the C clips, which in turn, would make the axles come out. Here is a pic of an open, C clipped rearend.

This is from a FWD 4T60E, from a GP. But same deal with the C clip.

Axle with C clip on it.

A non C clipped diff has press on style hubs that bolt to the backing plate, also thier are semi and Full floater axles. A search on them should explain what they are and how they function.

The only way to tell what he has, is pull the cover and inspect.

Finnaly I got the info, on pirate... -89 noncklip, 90-92 smaller side gears, later larger gears .....

It rainy, I was fixin the last XJ I brought home, had to go under cover several times ....

I am going to pick up mushrooms on thursday :yelclap:
