All,

I've read about freeze plugs and pressure testing the cooling system before installing the engine to check for leaks. Who carries such a device and what is it called by name? Just "Cooling system pressure checker"????? I installed brass freeze plugs and want to doublecheck for leaks before I put the engine in this weekend.......besides the pressure checker, are there other methods to check for leaks, with pressure applied? Also, how much pressure does the cooling system have in it?

Thanks guys!

Max. cooling pressure for most systems is 20 pounds. I don't know where you'd get a machine to test this though, take it to a shop I'd say.

sears has them. Might have to play with it because its designed to hook up where the rad cap goes. Not too expensive and I use it all the time.
