unfortunately, for your year the only interchangeable year for an easy swap is an '86 
just kidding. '84-99's are all hp dana 30 and swappable. some axles before '91 are vacuum disconnect so you'll want to stay away from them.

To answer before you ask...you will know if it's a vacuum disconnect axle by looking for a box looking thing about half way between the pumpkin and the end of the axle, facing the rear of the Jeep. It will have about 3 vacuum hoses running into it. I think they're yellow, green, and blue???
