Found out my outer u joints are also bad!!

I found out my outer u joints are bad. My Jeep is my DD, or unless it is good enough weather to ride the bike!! Anyways how hard are they?? Would it be a good idea to swap a 2wd straight axle just for now?? I will be driving without the driveshaft till I have time to fix the u-joints on the driveshaft. How long should I predict the Jeep to be down???

I thought the OUTER u joints refered to the axle ends not the front driveshaft. It isn't that hard of a job. If you can do driveshaft joints you can do the axles. You will need to pull the hub bearings, rotors, calipers.

if you've done the hubs, you're golden-- if not, plan an hour for each hub and an hour for each joint. Probably wont need that long, but better safe than sorry
