Chevy 250 I6 to Chrysler 904 tranny swap question

I have an 86 cherokee with the 2.8l and the Chrysler 904 tranny and I was wondering how much work it would be to make an adapter to attach a chevy 250 I6 to the 904 auto. Ive done some research but couldnt come up with anything. All inputs and suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Wouldn't it be easier to drop a 4.0/aw4/231 in it?

The chevy 250 is 50's technology.

through a225 slant 6 in there. it should bolt right up. and the 904 will handle it. 904's are built for race cars all the time around here, so you can always upgrade the guts.

okay, throw a 225, not through. that would save you changing everything in the drivetrain, it would fit, and look pretty cool, while giving you tons of torque.

why not a chevy 3.4L V-6? Damn near a bolt in.
