Joel Anderson, who represents San Diego’s East County in the California State Assembly has started a petition drive to authorize a specialized OHV
license plate.

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned here, but I think this could be a great option to have along side the existing "fund raising" plates. Hopefully this plate could raise some funds that could go towards the fight to save OHV areas from closing through the efforts of organizations like California Association of 4 Wheel Drive Clubs Inc., Blue Ribbon Coalition, CORVA, and others along with local clubs.
I'm not sure if this plate will actually be used for raising funds, I am only hopefull that it will and can at least be an added tool towards the awareness of the passionate concerns of the 4x4 community and others who recreate in the areas in danger of closing.
