I bought a 99 XJ with a salvage title. I've got it almost all they way back together but am having trouble removing the old air bags. Basically I just need to know the proper way to remove the yellow plug from the back of the air bag without destroying the plug.

The Yellow plug just pulls stright back and comes right off, however chances are real good that you'll need to replace the clock spring too, and they come with a new yellow plug.

Hope that helps.

New clock spring is required.

If you do any steering wheel or airbag work, disconnect the battery and wait 30 minutes for the system to become safe. You don't want an airbag to blow when you don't want it to.

Thats not a problem. The entire jeep is disassembled and the battery has been out for a week or so.

There's nothing that clips the yellow plug in? No detent to push or anything?
