What's up guys/gals,l
Been lurking on the boards but never felt the urge to post. However I recently picked up a beater XJ, primary Jeep is a MJ, and while researching some budget mods I found what I felt to be a couple of good deals I thought I would share. I know a lot of people use the V-8 ZJ springs and while looking for a set I found these Ironman springs http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/84-2001-Cherokee-XJ-Front-Pair-1-Coil-Springs-IRONMAN_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1638Q2em118Q2el1247QQcategoryZ33582QQihZ013QQitemZ230197209562QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWD1V
They are listed as 1" lift springs for a Cherokee but when I bounced them off the company's web site the part number is for a ZJ, doesn't say which engine. They claim 40mm-50mm of lift on that application with a 20% increase in spring rate. They haven't arrived yet, but for around $60 shipped for new springs it's hard to go wrong.
Like many I pulled some ideas from the rocklizard BB guide, but found the Grand Cherokee Up-Country Sensatrac #37193 discontinued. The Reflex replacement actually had less travel than the XJ shock. A little searching on Amazon http://www.amazon.com/Saver-Monroe-37193-Front-Sensa/dp/B000C57LEG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=automotive&qid=1205009740&sr=8-1 netted a pair of the 37193's and the Comanche rear shocks for $118 shipped. Several vendor have them just search the p/n. Amazingly they arrived within 4 days. Just looking for U-bolts and spring clamps now.
Not too exciting just thought it might help some body out!
