whats this noise?

I had recently had a repair shop do coolant flush on my 92 xj. Now im hearing a water trickling sound comming from the engine after i shut down. Does this mean there's air trapped in the cooling system? Do I need to add more coolant to it?

you should be fine. I hear the same thing with mine. Check your temp while running if its getting too hot, then you have a problem. if the water is boiling in the coolant tank, then you might have a problem.

Are you sure it's not the engine oil dripping into the pan that you're hearing?

hmm..i never thought of it being the oil but it started doing this after the coolant flush thats why i thought it was water.

You can hear the oil dripping into the pan after you shut off a warm 4.0. Could it be that you never noticed the sound before?

does it sound like it is coming from the heater core area?
