stupid question but im very irritated and want answers

....i changed my thermostat done it a couple times before, no problems except shitty thermostat but this time its leaking.....do i gotta wait for the sealant to dry before i check for leaks by squeezin the coolant tube? do i gotta re-do it?

You might have overtightened, causing the housing to crack. They are weak, and crack when over-torqued. Can't think of anything else. I had it to despite being careful on the torques. The good news is that they are cheap:laugh:.

It sounds like the thermostat shifted in the housing and out of the recess when you installed it, causing a high spot, thus causing you to crack the housing. Been there, done that.
