will 98 doors fit on a 89 ?

i got a awesome set of 98 cherokee doors that are mint and i want to put them on my 89 . i see that the latch is different , but are there any other differences ? cheers

The striker (latch) is different, but so long as you get the newer style striker as well and bolt it to where the old one was, they are 100% bolt n play. Of course, your door panels will be different and there is no easy way to go between 97+ and 96- panels. Aside from that by going to the 97+ doors you are getting rid of the vent window, getting a structurally stronger door, and having the option to run 6.5" speakers without mods. It's a pretty good deal in my opinion; I just hate the newer door panels. Here is a picture of what the striker will look like if you go to the newer doors...you will have to offset the hole just a little with a file or rasp but it will all work out well in the end.

great info . so the older door panels wont fit ? what about the innards , i have power windows and door locks and the new ones dont . will i be able to swich them over ? the new panels are are really fugly , plastic junk , ill probably just customise them if i cant make the old ones work .
