2000 rear wiper sticks

After you get it moving, and then stop it, does it move again or is it still stuck?

If it's OK the second time, try this simple test. First, use some glass cleaner and clean the window and the wiper blade (you'll probably get a lot of crud off the blade. Then wipe some liquid soap on the blade (not drippy, just a thin film). Then try the wiper

The reason is that lot's of crud can build up on the blade and make it "stick" to the window and the motor doesn't have enough leverage to get the blade moving at first when it's parked. Once you move it, it breaks the "bond". I've had this happen on mine.

You might also have too much tension in the arm pressing it too hard against the window.

If these are not it, it could be the linkage or the motor as SLOB suggests.
