Leaf spring fit & shackle angle

The the 4.5" springs that came with my RK lift seem shorter than the stock springs. With the springs disconnected from the axle, the shackles are rotated as far forward as they will go.
Is this right?

The problem is they are the same length as stock springs and the added arch causes that. You need to relocate your upper shackle mount and use about a 5" shackle. Set the shackle so it leans forward at a 45 degree angle at ride hieght.

It should look along the lines of this.

It will ride better too.

That pic is from my MJ with an empty tank of gas ane empty bed and no tailgate.

they will probably go back to straight up and down when your done. and be OK

ima do these, jes' custom corner's

That's your problem, put some weight on it man and break them in, lol!

It needs longer shackles, stock XJ ones will limit your droop as you can see since the shackle is pulled straight.

You definately need to put some longer shackles on to gain the full benifits of that new spring pack. The longer shackle gives a better leverage point on the spring pack & will give a better, smoother ride. Plus you will achieve some more droop.

Recommendations?
TNT Boomerang? RE?

How much shackle without the rear sitting higher than the front?

1" lift -1.5" lift shackles are what you need. You will probably need spacers for the front.

There are a lot of decent shackles available out there..... but TNT would a good choice for sure.

Like mentioned before.... you may need a spacer up front to level things out...... or ACOS if you want the adjustability.

Matt, you are happy with your setup? What do you have for skids?

Yeah im pretty happy with just about everything so far...... but the RE leaves are nearly shot , so a Deaver pack will probably replace them in 6 months or so...

As far as skids go.... I have DPG stuff. Great products & a NAXJA sponsor. The belly & gas tank skids are great. Super beefy!
