Question about Gauges?

So I bought a set of guages for my 95 XJ, they came of a 96 and had the Tach, Voltmeter, Watertemp, Oil Pres. so the question is how do I get the Oil and Water gauges to function. The original gauges were the idiot lights that do me no good. Any help is greatly appreciated.

You have to replace the oil pressure sending unit (located next to the oil filter) and the temperature sending unit (located on on the head at the rear).

Thanks Chuck, I has a great write up and will make the sensor swaps that much easier.
