So why is this on my jeep?

Was doing fender triming and notice I had a power ant. in the fender well that wasn't hook and was damaged.

The big ? is was this a factory thing cause it was mounted decent but was bypassed with a normal ant. The wires where all cut and there was no sign the ant just the motor and housing.

The jeep is a 88 laredo that had 4.0 auto and 242.

Power antenna probably died horrible death and he just did not remove it. Kinda lazy but some people are like that.

I know when i replaced my daughters broken antenna on her 92 laredo it had a power antenna. I would say it was stock for some models.
