column swap

Hey all,

Looking at buying a new XJ, this one is a 94, but it was stolen from its owner so the column is all busted up. The high-beam stalk is broken and it doesnt start with a key anymore. other than that its a nice jeep.

The 94 has the basic steering wheel (no airbag), no cruise. it has wipers and tilt.

My old XJ is a 90 and it looks like the same stalk (tilt, no airbag, grey)

can i swap the column from the 1990 into the 1994?

the 90 column he'd be using is in the current wheeler rig, so he has the keys to it, and we're used to two keys (silly GM) so that wouldn't bother him.

just wondering about the H.O. / renix wiring part of things, would it work?

As far as I know they are practically the same until 1995 when the airbag came out.
