truck stoped and now wont start

What year XJ, auto or stick? Which motor?
Exactly what works and what doesn't? By lights do you mean headlights or warning lights (instrument cluster). Do the gages move when you turn the key to run?

where r they at????

Under the black plastic cover on the pasanger side of engine compartmant. Look for a bunch of wires on one stud. The wires are the fuseable links. They should feel like real plyable wires. Grab both ends of the wires one at a time and pull. If you find one that burnt out you will see the insolation streach.

Good luck and let us know if and when you fine the problem.

Nope, A fuseable link is a wire that is really smaller and not rated for high current (think direct short circut) So it will burn out the wire and interurpt the circut, like blowing a fuse. Check your local auto parts store for fuseable link wire or try a junkyard. You may want to pick up a haynes or chilton book there too. About $20 to 25.00 US. Good luck
