Ok i have a SYE and yoke installed on one of my spare t-cases ( PORC HD on the 231) right now im running 5.5" with a 1" t-case drop w/o a sye and no shims. Should i take out the drop? Ill have to use a different cross member because i welded the current spacers to the member. Also how long does it take to pull the t-case off. What is everybody else running for drive shafts with this sye? (8.25 axle) I was hoping to use the front cv drive shaft as i have two decent spares. Thanks in Advance.

Also ill be posting in the f/s section with a np231 for sale. i dont need three of them sitting around.

you can use a CV front driveshaft from a Cherokee that had the 4.0 w/ an AW-4 tranny. That is, if the jeep you're putting it on is a 4.0 w/ an AW-4 tranny. I just did the same thing this week (5 inches, SYE, cherokee front DS in rear). Only thing is I had to replace all of the U joints on my shafts (I've only done the rear so far though). And as for the crossmember... I don't think you need that drop there anymore. you could always just use an angle grinder and cut it off.

yup, i have two drive shafts from the 4.0 aw4 combo and thats whats on my jeep now. I guess ill be taking that drop off. I have a whole nother cross member thats not messed with so ill toss that on. when i welded the spacers on i went all the way around, I think the plasma cutter would leave to much of a mess and thats quite a bit of grinding. :dunno:

guess i know what ill be doing this tommarow morning :looney: Better go turn the heat on now so the floors are nice and warm.
