how have you guys that have choped the top kept the lift gate bottom as a tail gate?
How did you hinge it ans latch it ?

I went with an MJ gate instead. Figured I'd use something that's a little better suited.

That looks good vette but I was wanting to leave the stock tail lights .
I saw one on XJDB but they mounted the hinges to the rear bumper , I just dont think that would be a good idea.
but I am working on it,Im sure the hinges are not that hard but I have been trying to rack my brain on how to latch them that would be sturdy.
