Affordable recovery point options, and where to buy?

I thought bumpers were in my budget, but I think I'm gonna have to wait on those for a while.

I'm wondering what affordable options I have for my 2001 XJ to add some recovery points front and rear for shackles or what-not.

Also, if you could provide links, that would be awesome! Thanks a bunch!

put on front and rear hitches.

X2,thats going to be the best bang for the buck, other wise just save for bumpers. If your not wheeling to hard tow hooks will work but you take the chance of bending the uni-body on a hard pull!

Excellent. Thanks!

I would need two pairs, correct? A pair each for front and rear ($150)?

Hitches are bad for clearance and approach/departure angles, or so I've been told...but beyond that, they seem to be close to the cost of a bumper.

Am I shopping in the wrong place for hitches?

Fits behind the stock bumper, completely.

Here is a thread with more pics.

Where can you buy a bumper for a 100$????

Well reinforced mild steel will work just fine. It don't have to be DOT approved and all the marketed winch bumpers are no more than mild steel.

Quality S hitches(class 3) are 99$(most models),Discount tire is where I by mine, but I also beleive thats what JCW sells!

Draw-tite front receiver hitch - comes out through the plastic valence so I suppose it effects your approach angle. $109.20. Says free shipping for the next 3.5 hours (at 7:42 MST - maybe that's from when you first connect to their site.)

Just realized you said 2001. checked and it's the same price.

Another 29.95 for the insert w/ d-ring

Junk yard for a rear hitch. Don't forget to get the nut strips.

Sell it all when you get your bumper.

You can always make the ones for the front fit on the back - where there's a will there's a way.

BTW I need some work done to my dishwasher... could you stop by?
