Bad NGK plug

It totally melted the ground electrode all the way out the head....

I've been mailing back and forth with the tech guy at NGK. Sent him the pics and explanation of events and according to him, it boils down to the fact that I have severely overheated the engine or have faulty timing. He stated that the cylinder temps had to be over 1000 deg. celsius to melt the plug. Motor has never overheated and the timing is fine with no engine codes or faults. Basically he said it's not a bad plug, it's a bad motor....
He wants the plug back but, I believe I'll keep it as a trophy. I just won't be buying NGK plugs ever again.

i've never seen an ngk do that before. i've seen bosch platinums blow the center of the plug right out of the threaded shell a couple times though. that's weird...
