Hi..I bought a 2001 xj auto and want to install my NP 231 with the sye from my 87 XJ with the good ole Pegiot trans..Im not quite sure if the splines are the same count? Would a swap from the auto input into my 87 NP 231 be neccessary?

Not exactly an answer to your post but my advice would be an ax/15 (with external slave) or the envy 3550. I just replaced my BA-10 with an ax-15 and am one of many (search 5-90) who think the puke goat is junk. if you dont believe me try to sell one to any member here. hell, try to find someone who will suffer one for free!

The 01 is a 23 spline, 87 is 21 spline...

Dunno bout that input swappage though... might be fudged
