i've just got mine sitting infront of the over flow tank. Its overflowed several times and it doesnt hurt it.

I have a '93. My canister was behind the bumper. Had to move when I built new bumper. Mine is setting on top of the heater hoses.

On my 95 it's more or less over the oil filter area, held by one screw. I loosen it when I change the oil.

Ijust re-mounted mine in the same location on the aftermarket bumper I installed. Drilled a couple of holes in the bumper flange to accept the bolts, bolted it on in the bumper cavity, plugged in the vacuum line.
