Ford Ranger coils

Will these fit under an XJ? If so, how much lift do they give? I bought some from a junkyard and then after getting home realized I had no idea if they would even work. I got em mainly because I was too lazy to pull the coils from the ZJ or F150 sitting in the lot, and too poor to pay the extra money to have them pull em. They were out of a fairly new Ranger. It has the same redesigned front end as the current year.

Yes, I did search, but mostly what I got was info about people wanting to put XJ coils in a Ranger.

IIRC don't they use torsion bars.....?

some newer rangers use torsion bars but the older ones were coils

from what i read here http://therangerstation.com/Magazine/Fall2003/MaximumFlexForTheTTB.htm

the reason they use xj coils is because they offer a softer spring for more wheel travel so by using the ranger coils you are going to have a rougher ride and from what i read here http://therangerstation.com/Magazine/Fall2003/F-150_coils_for_your_V8_BII_or_Ranger.htm the f-150 coil is longer then the ranger coil so you probly arent going to get any lift

why do you need new coils when you got 3" coil spacers:confused1
I'd prefer to have my lift from longer coils than from spacers on top of my stock coils.

I guess I'll have to return to the junk yard and see about exchanging my Ranger springs for those ZJ coils...damn laziness...I even remember thinking to myself "These Ranger coils don't look any longer than what I already got..."

just get thunder bird coils and trim them down. search thunderbird coils
