saw this while i was searching around. i know that some other companies make it, would it be worth it to wrap the header to reduce the ambient heat under the hood? or would the money be better spend elsewhere?

I've seen pics of headers that have cracked at the welds because of this stuff. I'd put your money elsewhere (maybe a cold air intake kit instead...?).

the stock air box is already a cold air intake and ive already changed mine to get a more direct air flow from behind the headlight.

thats interesting that welds will crack because of this, they say you make more horsepower with it

A lot of header companies will void your warranty if you wrap your header; I would check that first and foremost. Personally I would not wrap it.

Promotes a lot of rust even on stainless headers.

Yea it holds moisture. Plus it gets hotter in there and such.

A heat shield to seperate the intake from the exhaust manifold would be better.
