Gatorback belt question

replacing my belt tommorrow, with a gatorback belt, according to goodyears site the part number is 406950. I have the belt in front of me. however i also have a 406970. The back of both boxes list the 4.0 jeep and the same number 7p006 and the same belt pattern. The 970 is a little bit longer, mabey an inch. would the 970 be okay to use as a spare, like incase of an emergency?

In the part number 695 means "6" ribs and 95" long. So the 697 should be 97" long, which may make it too long for use as a spare as I am unsure if the tensioner has that much adjustment to it.

take the old belt into the parts store and match it that way. That way your guarenteed you get the right belt.

wrong. what if your old belt streches like crazy? then you're screwed.

The 406950 is the right belt. The other one will be too long.
