Real quick. What is the shaft offset for this axle? I am pretty sure it is 2.5", but I wanted to confirm if anyone knew for sure.

XJ D44 Shaft Question

Shaft offset??? The shafts on an XJ D44 rear are within a half inch of the same length. Most manufacturer's make them the same length.

I don't know the exact measurement, but I'd say that a half inch sounds about right.
The short side is the driver side (just like on the D30, that's how I remember). You could use the short side one on the passenger side though without a problem.

Maybe it's the brake offset..............:dunno: The measurement I believe I am looking for is the offset from the axle flange to the housing flange.

Alright, after being able to get to my axle and measure it, the brake offset is 2.5". And for those who do not know what this measurement is, it is the distance from the face of the axle end flange to the face of the axle shaft mounting surface.
