from idiot lites to a gauge cluster

my newest xj is a 97, and it has idiot lites in it, i have put aftermarket gauges in it but i was wanting the factory gauges and i am wondering if the factory gauge cluster will go right in and what sensors i might have to change over. i have done lots of searches on this but all i come up with is wright ups on the old style gauges (96 and before). has anyone ever done this?

On the 97+, just simply swap out clusters with another 97+, no need to swap senders of any kind.

Do a search for "97+ cluster swap".

Plug and play, that's it.

pre 97 you'll need to replace the gauge sender at the back of the head for a gauge sender meant for the gauge, not the "idiot light."

That's about it.
