Are 2.5L and 4.0L T-Stat housings interchangeable?

Like the title says, the parts shops seem to have plenty of 4.0 T-Stat housings, but none for my MJ's 2.5. Visually, they look identical, at least externally. Can anyone verify that they are the same part?

i'm 99.973431% sure on this.... renix models are different. later h.o.'s are indeed the same housing.

I think the only difference is coolant temp sensor is in the housing. I used a H.O. one after I cracked my friends renix one.

that would work too. so long as you left the sensor in the hole, or had a 1/4"(?) pipe plug handy.
