shifting into 2nd

is there a reason why it has always been hard to shift into second with my 5 spd? i know jeep trannies aren't made for racing, but when i shift at higher rpms when wheelin it gets harder to shift. anyone else have this problem? could it be that the tranny is building more pressure at higher rpm rendering the stock vent inadequate to release the pressure? i also have a hurst short shifter is that means anything. thanks

try different gear oil. should be gl3. redline and royal purple have it.

I had trouble shifting into second when was cold. I used Mobil1 gear oil and it fixed it.

I have a different problem with 2nd. It's more like 1 1/2 gear not second.
I can easily go from 1st to 3rd (on road) and not need 2nd.

To properly use 2nd I would need to push in clutch to go from 1st to 2nd then take a very pregnant pause to let RPM come down. If not 2nd is like a lower rev of 1st.
