NP231 plastic in case

I found some plastic in the transfer case while it was apart to put in the sye. It seems to be for the shaft for the shift linkage but I can't be sure without looking at another one. It has been running fine and I can't see any wear. Forget about it or put in a rebuild kit?

it could be parts of the speedo gear

if its a funny color then its the speedo gear. any clear or white or black color could be from the linkage, did you notice any problems with it?

could be part of the shift fork plastic shoes. not sure why it would come off but maybe.....

Hmm, color is whitish. On closer inspection seems to match some sort of sleeve on the shift shaft. Thanks for the help. I think I'm going to ignore it for now.

Whitish in color is more then likely the plastic from the Shift forks.
