after some test driving after replacing the radiator and t-stat everything checks out fine. no more engine overheating or anything. i decide to open up the oil cap and some steam billows out. is that perfectly normal? sorry, this might be a noob question but my other cars don't do it. maybe it's a jeep thing, i have no clue.

i don't see any loss of power or any weird fluctuations of oil pressure or engine temps.

thanks in advance! oh, this is a 91 jeep cherokee laredo.

it's oil vapor, by itself it's normal, your trouble comes when your PCV or CCV systems are clogged or not working properly, and the most common result of this would be an oily air filter if you're running the stock air box configuration...
