Np 242 SYE???

Go here:

http://www.4xshaft.com/index.html

Scroll down and select "Early" or "Late" depending on your model year. I have an NP242 with a Tom Woods SYE and rear shaft and couldn't be happier. You won't need a TCase drop either. Just pay up and do it right. Call them if you have questions, they provide outstanding service.

Got all mine from RE. Had to measure the stock driveshaft and call that in. Had the HnT and shaft in three days and had it installed on my next day off. Several thousand miles later and still perfect.

I'll say meh to that..

Get an RE HnT and either use a front shaft or custom, I went with a HAD shaft. No issues at all with the HnT.

I have another way of doing a SYE for a 242 on my site also. www.go.jeep-xj.info
To run a front shaft though you will need a auto ( and a shaft from one ) and either a 8.25 or D44 rear axle. They have longer pinions to be able to run the front shaft where as the D35 has a short pinion leaving a front shaft too short to be safe.

I had to retube with my 242 and auto xj shaft with both d35 and 8.8

call dirk at dpg offroad. I ordered the RE Hnt and new drive shaft for around $400. It went on well and have had no problems.
