Ok guys. My dads friend has a 2001 cherokee 4.0. He is throwing a dtc 432 code which i believe means the main catalyst is below threshold bank 2. Anybody have any idea what is causing it? I have no idea what it means. Thanks

Probably an o2 sensor, but can't be sure.
It should be throwing a code for that too if the O2 was bad, but it's a possibility. If he makes a lot of very short trips in it where as the converter never gets up to operating temp then that could possibly cause it. The converter may be going bad (IIRC they are federally mandated to a 7year warranty), a crack in the exhaust before the converter, a leaking injector, just about anything could cause it.Myself I would take it in for a diagnostic scan (which is different than just pulling the codes).

possible causes:

EXHAUST LEAK
CATALYST EFFICIENCY DTC DOES NOT REOCCUR
ENGINE MECHANICAL PROBLEM
CATALYTIC CONVERTER 2/1
UPSTREAM O2 SENSOR OLDER THAN DOWNSTREAM O2 SENSOR
TEST ACTION APPLICABILITY
