Rear drum rubbing

I just got a rear wheel stud replaced and something is wrong with the drum brake on that side. I noticed the e-brake didn't pull up as high as before, but didn't think anything of it. When I got home, I could smell the rear brake. The drum is too hot to touch, but the other side (not worked on) is just warm. Will the reverse trick work to adjust rear brakes that are too tight on one side?
