98 xj 4.0 115000 miles new fuel pump still starts hard. turn key to on several times till fuel pump sound changes starts "first time." otherwise you need to attempt 2- 4 starts before it starts then runs great. Is turning the key on off several times hard on anything (is it okay to do this indefinetly?) or do I need to replace the whole module vs check vlave or pressure regulator?

Always start simple. Check your connections, fuses, relays and switches. This problem could stem from a problem with your igition switch to some corrosion on your fuses to a bad relay or a dirty connection. Good luck...

Did you use a Chrysler/Jeep fuel pump or one from a parts store? What brand? Yes you can do the key on/off thing forever, won't really hurt anything.
