Overhead Console

I have a 98 xj. I dont currently have a overhead console. If I wanted to add one, is the wiring already there, or would you have to run the wiring all the way to the harness under the dash? Thanks in advance.

You need to run wires from the passenger footwell to the console or get a factory wire harness. Click on the links for more info.

it also depends on what you want out of the console. I added one from a ZJ to my 97, but I really only wanted the added lights, storage and then a place to put switches for lights, e-fan kill, and such. In which case the power for lights are already there, and I will run the wires for my switches to relays in engine bay. The added lights are great, I can use them with the interior switch, or on their own and they throw much more light than the original did. Plan on replacing the rear one too with selectable out of a minivan.
