Front End Noise

I have a 2000 with 5.5" of lift and 33's. I am pretty sure i know where the noice is coming from. When i turn the steering wheel my tie rod is actually rolling forwards and backwards. What could cause this? Bad tie rod ends?

To clarify, it is not an inverted Y setup. It is a "custom" conversion that the previous owner did. The tie rod will actually rock back and forth with just the pressure of my hand.
