Transmission Shifting at 5000 RPM's!

I just got back from a 100 mile highway trip on a 100 degree day. I was on my way back when my tranny started acting funny. I had just gotten done cleaning the engine bay and when i pulled it out of the carwash it shifted fine. I stopped at a red light and once I got going again it wouldn't shift until it was at 5000 rpm's. It also did this from 2nd to 3rd gear and kicks from 3rd to 2nd at around 2300 rpm's. It feels like it is in 1-2 all the time but it's not. The shifts feel really hard (like from 1 to 2 while in 1-2). Can anyone give me shine some light on what is going on with my tranny. I think i'm gonna unplug the computer to see if it's mechanical or eletrical. I'm thinkin' it's electrical but i haven't seen any posts where the tranny shifts this high. Thanks
