Crysler 8.25

I have a 99 sport. Do I probably have a crystler 8.25 (if you can't determine by the year how do you tell otherwise).

Crawl under the jeep with a wire brush and scrub on the diff cover. If you see a little metal tag down there, scrub it up too. You will then have more info as to what diff and gear ration you have.

It is neither crysler or crystler, it's Chrysler for god's sake.

Anyway, if the pumpkin (the thing between the axle tubes, the things the wheels are attached to) has a flat bottom, looks like the bottom half of a stop sign or any one of the other things people have compared them to hundreds of times to answer this question, you have a Chrysler 8.25 axle. FYI, in a 2000 it will be a 29 spline if it is indeed a 8.25.

Good luck.

P.S. Why is this MODIFIED tech?

Yeah, you got the 8.25.. It's very unlikely you got any other.
