Is there a way to tighten up the tailgate?

When im driving and get anywhere past like 45 it just rattles and rattles

your pin is bad, you cab find some tube to fit it till you can get a pin, no more rattles... i found some tube at the hardware store

Im not sure what you mean by "pin" sorry

Are we talkin the shaft that is mounted to the jeep and that the hatch locks around?

If so how do you remove that?

what year? mines a 89 i order one for mine an no more rattle,try team cherokee.com, they have the parts you need
