Exhaust.....two pipes are the same size. Solution?

Got all my exhuast parts in today (JEGS ships SUPER fast btw)

I thougth i ordered everything the correct way..but apparently not. Im running the muffler, and than just a turn down at the end..no tailpipe. Thats where the problem is. The outlet pipe is 2.5 and so it the turndown. The two pipes butt up against eachother. I plan on welding everything(turndown to muffler) but there are slots on the turndown, so ide have leaks. Do they make a fitting that will mate a 2.5 inch pipe to another 2.5 inch pipe?

Yeah, you can just get a section of pipe that is 2.5" ID and then slip both in and weld it..
It's kinda ghetto, but whatever works.

I'm sure places like Autozone has different adapters and pieces.

I'll check it out.. Wish It would have just fit. Nothing is easy lol

Well...I just messed around with an adapter I had. Its 2 1/4 ID and 2.5 OD. Seems like that wil work.

Take your turndown to a muffler shop and have the end of the turndown stretched to fit over the outlet of the muffler. It shouldn't cost but a couple of bucks.

You can also get an exhaust pipe expander from harbor freight.

Good point, if you're not going to put a mount after the muffler then that will do it.
