head gasket

im working on doing a head gaket on a 2002 grand cherokee with a 4.0 in it. I have gotten everything all torn down except the manifolds are still attached to the head, and im having a bitch of a time getting to the bottom bolts out. I can hardly see them much less reach them, and the way the intake manifold curves down, you dont get a straight shot with a socket. Any pointers, or tips. thanks

if its the same as an XJ manifold, its easy enough, just takes patience. You will find the motor mount to be obstructive if you try from underneath, but it might work. Try using a swivel socket attachment. Joe
