4:88s

just wondering if i can get away with 4:88s with 36irok with a auto. im building new rears and had the back 44 fit with 4:88s and detroit, for my 5spd. i just bought a 95 with auto and are selling my old truck. so this is my dilema. i havent done the gear swap in the front yet. if i have to i'll redue the rear 44 gears again and then the front. i still plan on driving on the highway but not more then 70.

Yeah, 4.88 will work okay with the auto. Down side will be the 37.4:1 crawl ratio with the AW-4. (Assumes stock T-case at 2.72:1) {2.82 first gear*2.72 NP231*4.88 R&P's}

I ran 4.88's with my 35" TrXus on the road. No issues with it searching for gears on inclines.
