I did basically the same thing with Explorer brakes. I tried welding and redrilling the (first set of) caliper brackets but, that turned out to be a nightmare! On the second attempt, I punched (hydraulic) some 3/8" holes through some steel plate and pressed the slugs into the holes and put a few strategic plug welds in to keep them there before drilling the new pattern.....worked pretty good. Another method suggested to me (too late) was, to tap the holes and screw in some grade 2 bolts (soft enough to drill) then cut them off and grind flush. Also, a piece of 3" schedule 40 pipe is the exact diameter (ID and OD) and works great as the spacer(s). I love my rear discs!-------Hans
