I must be slow?!

Okay, probably a little redundant, but yesterday I was towing a 4x6 trailer over the pass, and my great white heep started getting a wee bit warm, around 230-240. I have replaced my rad, flushed the coolant, and put a aftermarket temp gauge on it. I DO NOT have a fan shroud. Is this really a problem?
TIA
Scott

Yes,

At slow speeds, the shroud helps draw hot air away from the radiator. What happenned to the old shroud?

Old shroud? Um....... It was a dark and stormy night, I swerved to miss a tree, and another tree, and i hit a squirrel instead!! He jumped up into my engine area, and ate my fan shroud.

Okay, that was a little over the top. but it was a squirrel and it was only one tree. I bought a new shroud and hardwar today so, we will see tomorrow.
Thanks to all for your help.
