t case noise

ok my wifes bone stock 2000 xj we used it in 4h for 20 feet to cross a ditch when i put it back in 2wh it felt weird. the wife has been wining about a noise for a while. it felt like it was between 2wh and 4h so i adjusted the linkage it was worse. after pulling the shifter cover i found a pen cap down inside stopping it from going into 2wh. i re adjusted the linkage back noise is still there. under accelartion it sounds like the chain is hitting the case. i changed the fluid and it was greyish purple. it is posiable that the chain is steached with only 90k on the jeep

that is weird the hubs might be lock in to 4 wd and frozen becuase u drove it like that

with it on jack stands the front drive shaft spins free. the wheels also spin free. i evan pulled the front shaft and am running it with out the front shaft
